Contraindications

• Known hypersensitivity to oseltamivir or formulation components

Use With Caution

• Significant renal impairment (dose adjustment required)
• Hereditary fructose intolerance (sorbitol in some suspensions)
• History of severe nausea/vomiting with antivirals (give with food, monitor)
• Concomitant live attenuated influenza vaccine (LAIV) within the past 48 hours or planned soon (antivirals may reduce LAIV effectiveness)

Pregnancy & Lactation

Discuss risks/benefits with a clinician; pediatric dosing is for the child, but considerations apply for breastfeeding parents handling dosing and illness in the household.
