Pediatric Drug Interactions with Sucralfate

• Separate other oral medications by at least 2 hours (4 hours for fluoroquinolones).
• Avoid simultaneous administration with continuous enteral feeds whenever possible—stop feeds briefly, give sucralfate, then flush.
• Monitor glucose when combined with hypoglycemic agents; altered absorption may change glycemic control.
• Use caution with aluminum-containing antacids or dialysis patients to prevent aluminum toxicity.
