Common risk factors
- Maternal fever >= 38 C during labor.
- Rupture of membranes >= 18 hours.
- Preterm birth < 37 weeks.
- GBS positive or unknown without adequate intrapartum prophylaxis.
- History of invasive GBS disease in a prior infant.
- GBS bacteriuria during the current pregnancy.
- Suspected intraamniotic infection (chorioamnionitis/triple I).
