How PedsCalc creates, checks, updates, and corrects pediatric dosing content, calculator logic, product guides, and caregiver resources.
PedsCalc content should make the calculation, source context, safety boundary, and next action clearer. If a page cannot do that, it should be narrowed, rewritten, or removed from prominent routing.
PedsCalc publishes pediatric dosing calculators, medication guides, clinical reference pages, printable handouts, product-routing pages, and caregiver education pages.
The goal is practical support for medication math, formulation checks, dosing context, and safer handoffs. PedsCalc is not a substitute for a clinician, pharmacist, local protocol, product label, or emergency evaluation.
Calculator logic starts from the clinical formula, dose band, or scoring rule used by the source material. Unit conversions are implemented in code and verified with focused tests when the calculator has enough risk or reuse.
For medication calculators, the app separates dose target, patient weight, concentration, frequency, and course length so users can see the practical mL or form handoff without hiding the assumptions.
Medication pages combine local structured content, source-backed clinical notes, formulation tables, safety cautions, and route-specific related links.
Common source types include FDA or DailyMed labeling, public pediatric guidance, hospital pathways, professional society statements, and patient-facing medication references.
Content updates are made when source guidance changes, a calculator workflow is improved, search data shows a clearer user job, or a defect is found.
Important route changes are tracked in the repository notes and SG ticket ledger so later reviews can see what changed, why it changed, and which checks passed.
Product pages are editorial guides first. Affiliate links may support site maintenance, but products and retailer routes are included only when they map cleanly back to PedsCalc guidance or clinician workflow needs.
If a product path stops matching the editorial purpose, it can be removed or rewritten regardless of affiliate value.
PedsCalc treats dosing, safety, and route-rendering defects as high priority. Reports are reviewed against the source material, local calculator behavior, and affected routes before changes are shipped.
When a correction changes user-facing guidance, the related page, notes, and tests are updated together whenever practical.
